# rate_limited

Too many requests. HTTP 429.

## What it means

This key or its company has used its calls for this minute.

## What to do

Wait at least Retry-After seconds, then add a small random delay. Refused calls do not count against the limit.

## Headers

A 429 response also sends `Retry-After`, `RateLimit-Policy`, `RateLimit`.

Errors use `application/problem+json` (RFC 9457). Act on `code` or `type`; `detail` is for people and can change.
